Enrollment at Pelham City School District decreased by 1% compared to previous school year

There were 1,283 students enrolled in Pelham City School District in the 2022-23 school year, 1% less than the previous year, according to reports from the Georgia Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51% of them were female, and 49% were male.

Data also shows that most of the students were Black, representing 56% of the Pelham City School District's total enrollment.

Pelham City School District roughly covers three schools within Mitchell County and has a main office in Pelham.

Among the three schools in Pelham City School District, Pelham Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 543 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Chronic absenteeism in Georgia has declined from its 2022 peak of 25%, but it still remains above pre-pandemic levels (11.8%). In 2024, about 20.7% of all students in the state missed 10% or more of their classes.
