Enrollment at Decatur County School District decreased by 1.7% compared to previous school year

There were 4,059 students enrolled in Decatur County School District in the 2022-23 school year, 1.7% less than the previous year, according to reports from the Georgia Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51% of them were male, and 49% were female.

Data also shows that most of the students were Black, representing 52% of the Decatur County School District's total enrollment.

Decatur County School District roughly covers six schools within Decatur County and has a main office in Bainbridge.

Among the six schools in Decatur County School District, Bainbridge High School recorded the highest enrollment of 1,205 students in the 2022-23 school year.

As of 2024, Georgia has an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:15, which is better than the national average of 1:16. The state has its best student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1 in pre-kindergarten and middle school grades, while high school has an average ratio of 17:1.
