Lower student enrollment in Miller County School District, following the state's trend

The only school district in Miller County faced declining enrollment in the 2022-23 school year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

There were 705 students in the halls of Miller County School District, 0.1% less than the year before.

Enrollment in Miller County was steady compared to the state's trend of decreasing enrollment.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50% of them were male, and 50% were female.

The most represented ethnicity among Miller County School District students was white, accounting for 48% of the student population.

Miller County School District has a main office in Colquitt and is the only school district within Miller County.

According to the Georgia Department of Education, over 1.6 million students were enrolled in Georgia's public schools during the 2021-22 school year. The state boasted a diverse and closely distributed student body across grade levels, with roughly 44% of the students in elementary, 24.5% in middle school, and 31.5% in high schools.

The state also registered an ethnically diverse student body, with 34.4% of the students identified as white, 36.5% as Black, 17.1% as Hispanic, and 4.5% as Asian.
