Which Quitman County school saw the biggest enrollment in 2022-23 school year?

Quitman County Elementary School had the highest enrollment among Quitman County schools, welcoming 190 students during the 2022-23 school year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 54% of them were female, and 46% were male.

Data also showed that most of the students were Black, representing 75% of the Quitman County Elementary School total enrollment.

Among the two schools in Quitman County, Quitman County High School ranked second in enrollment numbers with 107 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Quitman County Elementary School is part of Quitman County School District, which generally encompasses schools within Quitman County, with its main office in Georgetown.

In the previous school year, Quitman County Elementary School also had the highest number of students among Quitman County schools.

As of 2024, Georgia has an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:15, which is better than the national average of 1:16. The state has its best student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1 in pre-kindergarten and middle school grades, while high school has an average ratio of 17:1.
