Clay County Education: Which school had most students enrolled in 2022-23 school year?

Clay County Elementary School had the highest enrollment among Clay County schools, welcoming 114 students during the 2022-23 school year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51% of them were female, and 49% were male.

Data also showed that most of the students were Black, representing 98% of the Clay County Elementary School total enrollment.

Among the two schools in Clay County, Clay County Middle School ranked second in enrollment numbers with 62 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Clay County Elementary School is part of Clay County School District, which generally encompasses schools within Clay County, with its main office in Fort Gaines.

In the previous school year, Clay County Elementary School also had the highest number of students among Clay County schools.

According to the Georgia Department of Education, over 1.6 million students were enrolled in Georgia's public schools during the 2021-22 school year. The state boasted a diverse and closely distributed student body across grade levels, with roughly 44% of the students in elementary, 24.5% in middle school, and 31.5% in high schools.

The state also registered an ethnically diverse student body, with 34.4% of the students identified as white, 36.5% as Black, 17.1% as Hispanic, and 4.5% as Asian.
