Dougherty Comprehensive High School issued the following announcement on Feb. 11
This week we honor a very special group within our DCSS family: our counselors. During normal times, counselors serve as an important connection point between our schools, support services and each of our students. During the pandemic their importance has only increased.
They touch or have an impact on everything from registration to custody disputes; they work with our high school students to keep them on track for graduation; they connect our students with scholarships and other resources and opportunities; and, when necessary, they serve as a special advocate when some of life’s toughest challenges present themselves in some of our youngest people.
So, today, let's thank our counselors for all of the work they do, known and unknown, to help our students stay focused throughout their time with us in the Dougherty County School System.
