A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Webster County Election Department in Georgia on October 29, 2024. The request, filed by SW Georgia News, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, seeks information about the methods used by the department to count votes.

In particular, the FOIA request asks for a list of methods employed by the department for vote counting. If manual counting is being used, the request also seeks an estimated number of people who will be working on election night.
