Congressman Andrew Clyde (GA-09) has announced the 2024 Congressional Art Competition, inviting high school students in Georgia’s Ninth District to showcase their artistic talents. The winning artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol building for one year.
“The annual Congressional Art Competition presents a unique opportunity to highlight young artists from across our great nation and display their talent in the People’s House,” said Rep. Clyde, encouraging students to participate.
Last year's winner, Grace Lee, was recognized for her submission, Unmerited Love. The competition, dating back to 1982, aims to acknowledge the artistic abilities of young constituents, with winning pieces displayed in the U.S. Capitol's Cannon Tunnel for a year.
Students from Georgia’s Ninth Congressional District are eligible to participate, with artwork required to be two-dimensional and meet specific size and weight restrictions. Accepted mediums include paintings, drawings, collages, prints, mixed media, computer-generated art, and photographs.
Originality is key, as entries must not violate U.S. copyright laws. Submissions must be sent to Rep. Clyde’s Gainesville District Office by April 19th.
For any inquiries or delivery arrangements, students can contact Rep. Clyde’s Gainesville District Office at 470-768-6520.
