WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Andrew Clyde (GA-09) has expressed his support for the investigation into allegations of misconduct by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis by sending a letter to Georgia State Senator William Cowsert, the Chairman of the Special Committee overseeing the investigation. In the letter, Rep. Clyde not only acknowledges the allegations surrounding Willis' relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade, but also brings attention to the concerning use of taxpayer-funded services by Wade.

According to Rep. Clyde, the Fulton County District Attorney's office has paid Nathan Wade a total of $653,881 since January 2022 for various billable hours, including meetings with the Biden Administration and discussions related to the events of January 6th. Rep. Clyde believes that if it is proven that these meetings were arranged at taxpayer expense to discuss the prosecution of President Biden's political opponent, it would be a significant breach of ethics and a serious conflict of interest.

Furthermore, Rep. Clyde sheds light on new allegations regarding Willis' potential pattern of misconduct and misuse of federal funds. Leaked recordings reveal that a staffer confronted Willis about the misuse of a $488,594 federal grant intended for the creation of a Center of Youth Empowerment and Gang Prevention facility. The grant was allegedly used to purchase items from Dell Computer Corporation, and the staffer who raised concerns was subsequently fired by Willis. Rep. Clyde finds these allegations deeply concerning and indicative of potentially unethical behavior and misuse of taxpayer funds.

As the sole Georgia Republican on the House Appropriations Committee, Rep. Clyde offers his assistance to the special committee's investigation. He states, "As your special committee moves forward with investigating these allegations of misconduct by DA Fani Willis, please let me know how I may assist you in ensuring that federal taxpayer dollars appropriated by Congress have not been misused."

This is not the first time Rep. Clyde has raised concerns about Willis' actions. On January 18th, he led 28 of his House Republican colleagues in sending a letter to Georgia Attorney General Christopher Carr, expressing concern about Willis' potential unauthorized use of federal funds and requesting an investigation into these allegations.

The investigation into the allegations of misconduct by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis continues, with Rep. Clyde offering his support and assistance in ensuring the proper use of taxpayer dollars. The outcome of this investigation will shed light on the potential breach of ethics and misuse of federal funds, providing clarity on the actions of those involved.
