Savannah State senior shooting guard Eleik Bowles has earned a spot in the second ever HBCU All-Star Game, according to a press release from the organization.

The HBCU All-Star Game, set for Sunday, April 2 in Houston, Texas at Texas Southern University, chose 24 players from HBCU schools across the nation for this year's rosters.

The game will air live on CBS at 4 p.m. EST, and be available for streaming on Paramount+.

Comprised of the best basketball players in the four HBCU NCAA Division I and Division II conferences, the 24 selections will be split up into two teams of 12 for the historic game, named after a pair of HBCU Legends—Team Willis Reed versus Team Dick Barnett.

"The 24 players that have been selected represent the best in college basketball at our country's prestigious black colleges and universities," HBCU All-Stars LLC Founder and CEO Travis L. Williams said in a press release. "Our HBCU All-Star national scouting staff did an amazing job for the past five months evaluating some of the most talented players from the 49 participating HBCU's."

Bowles will play on Team Dr. Dick Barnett which will feature players from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), and Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC). His teammates come from inter-conference opponents Tuskegee and Morehouse as well as Division I schools Norfolk State, Morgan State, North Carolina Central and North Carolina A&T.

"I'm grateful to be able to be part of the HBCU All-Star Game," Bowles said. "I put in a lot of work in the offseason and I appreciate that my performance this season was recognized. Also, I am thankful for my team and coaches because they helped me get to this point."

Team Dr. Dick Barnett will be coached by Howard University Head Men's Basketball Coach Kenneth Blakeney, who will be assisted by Tuskegee Head Men's Basketball Coach Benjy Taylor.

Bowles was named to the All-SIAC First Team in the conference's post-season awards after leading the Tigers in nearly every stat this season—including points, field goals, three-point field goals, blocks, steals, and minutes. He finished the year averaging 16.1 points a game, with 403 total points, shooting 41% from the field.

In the first-ever HBCU All-Star game, last year, alum Trey DeLoach represented Savannah State.
