The Baker County Board of Education received the Award of Distinction for Excellent Financial Reporting by the Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts for the second consecutive year. This award was established to recognize excellence in financial reporting and controls. It encourages governmental organizations to go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles and recognizes individual organizations that are successful in achieving this goal.
Lauren Tabb, Director of Finance for Baker County Schools is quoted as saying “we go beyond the job description to spend taxpayer dollars wisely and efficiently in order to provide the highest level of educational services to our students!”
The Award of Distinction for Excellent Financial Reporting was created in 2014 and is presented to organizations that submit quality financial statements and supporting documentation in a timely manner. To receive this award, the organization’s annual financial report must receive an unmodified audit opinion, be free of any significant deficiencies or requirements.
The Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts exits to provide independent, credible audit services promoting improvement in government.
Congratulations to the Baker County Board of Education for “excellence in financial reporting!”
