Head Volleyball Coach Roselidah Obunaga began her four season this week with the opening of fall camp.
Over the last three years, Obunaga has gradually improved the volleyball program, earning two Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Championship bids and two of the best overall records for the program since 2009.
This year, Obunaga has a squad that is exactly half returners and half newcomers. As fall camp gets underway, she's been evaluating each position with an eye towards who her starters will be.
For the first week of fall camp, prior to the start of classes on August 15, Obunaga has been running drills in practice and shuffling around players, testing rotations and evaluating individual positions.
In the returning class, she has some solid players. Sophomore outside/right side hitter Jasmine Nettles, who played in 23 matches last season and ranked in the top five in kills, will definitely play a large role on the team this year.
Destinee Langston, the junior outside/right side hitter, returns to the team this year. She recorded 125 kills last year and was named the SIAC Newcomer of the Week for the week of Sept. 21.
