Andrew College Athletics issued the following announcement on Feb. 23
The #6 seeded Andrew College women's basketball team took it to Albany Tech on Tuesday night in Albany, GA, sending the #3 seeded Lady Titans into the offseason, with a convincing 61-57 win, advancing to the semi-finals of the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Assoiation (GCAA) Women's Basketball Div. I Championships, where they will take on #2 seeded South Georgia Tech in Rome, GA at 8:00 pm Friday night.
Down 4 points at the half, the Lady Tigers outscored Albany 42-30 in the second half and pulled away for the double digit win. Andrew had dropped all three regular season games this year against the Lady Titans, the last two by just three points each. Ja'Mya Johnson paced the Tigers with 24 points, pulled down a team-high 9 rebounds, and dished out a game-high 3 assists, recently named GCAA 1st Team All-Region forward Taliah Wesley added 21 points, pulled down 8 boards, and had a team-high 3 steals, and Aaliyah Ringold added 6 points and 4 rebounds off the bench, setting up the semi-final showdown on Friday against South Ga Tech.
