Grady General Hospital issued the following announcement on Dec. 21
Archbold Memorial Hospital’s Jessica “Kristy” Howell, RN, is now a certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) through the Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (CBDCE).
Candidates must meet rigorous eligibility requirements to take the certification exam. Achieving certification status demonstrates to people with diabetes and employers that the health professional possesses distinct and specialized knowledge, thereby promoting quality of care for people with diabetes.
CBDCE is an organization that is responsible for overseeing the certification program for diabetes care and education specialists. Currently, only 19,900 diabetes care and education specialists hold CDCES certification.
“Kristy’s CDCES certification is such an achievement and a testament to her dedication to our patients,” said Kasey Smith, Director of Nursing Education. “We are extremely proud of her and her drive to continue to help make Archbold one of the best hospitals in the region.”
