Town of Bluffton to repave Pritchard Street as sewer project wraps up

29

Town of Bluffton issued the following announcement on July 20

Contractors for the Town of Bluffton are scheduled to repave Pritchard Street from Tabby Shell Road to Bridge Street during the last week of July.

During this road resurfacing, there will be temporary lane closures on Pritchard Street. Please be patient during this project and follow the directions of the road crew.  Access to private residences, the Beaufort County indoor pool and Town Hall will be available.

The resurfacing is expected to take a week depending on weather and other conditions.

This is the last step of the Bluffton’s Historic District, Phase 1 Sewer Project, which installed sanitary sewer on Pritchard Street. This is the first of six phases of sewer construction in Bluffton’s Historic District. This first phase is comprised of installing 2,550 linear feet of main sewer lines and will service 25 properties with houses and four (4) additional undeveloped lots. Additionally, the project will also retire 25 septic tanks, a process known as “abandoning septic tanks,” so they pose no further threat to the local environment.

If any residents have questions about the project, please contact Director of Engineering Bryan McIlwee at (Office: 843.706.7824).
